Arrangements For Children

It can sometimes be difficult for separating parents to reach an agreement in relation to the future arrangements for their children.  We can help by providing specialist advice and guidance, and if necessary, representation in court proceedings.

The court will only become involved if there is a substantive dispute between parents, but it is not uncommon for parents to need some legal support in determining the arrangements outside the court process.

In some circumstances urgent legal help is needed, and we are experienced in dealing with emergency applications through the Court.

We regularly advise in relation to many different situations, including the following:

  • Where children will live and when/how they will spend their time with each parent
  • Specific issues regarding medical treatment, religious upbringing, schooling or education
  • Change of Name for a child
  • Relocation of children both inside England and Wales, and abroad
  • Return of children
  • Issues concerning taking the children abroad for foreign holidays
  • Parental Responsibility
  • Rights of grandparents
  • Rights of step-parents
  • Declarations of parentage
  • Financial issues concerning children
  • Parenting plans
  • Concerns about the welfare of your children, or risk of harm
  • Prohibited steps orders
