An Update of The Law During the Recession

Since my last legal blog I am afraid we haven’t seen much of an improvement in the economy.  Whilst there has been talk of green shoots this I feel is yet to filter through.  Regrettably we continue to see a rise in employment law related claims.  These specifically relate to unfair dismissal, redundancy, discrimination and wrongful dismissal claims.  Mostly, the knock on effect is not good.  We also see a rise in matrimonial matters including divorce and financial disputes which then of course extends to child contact issues.

Having said that, there is some improvement in the property market, and a modest increase in residential and commercial property is taking place.

For our part we continue to strive to help Clients and friends through these very difficult times and I am confident that sooner or later things will improve.

On a more positive note I am pleased to announce that Hewetts have been appointed to the panel of Quality Solicitors.com. Only 100 firms in the country have achieved this status and it is a recognition of the quality of service we provide. Particularly it recognises our ethos of wanting to provide a very personal, friendly and approachable service. Hopefully this will continue for many years to come.
