Church law

Scales of Justice

As a member of the Association of Christian Law Firms we undertake a wide variety of legal work for Churches, Charities and Ministers. The law relating to the running of Churches and related legal matters is a specialist area. We have considerable experience and are able to assist and advise with:-

  • Employment matters relating to Ministers and other staff of the Church.
  • Trustees obligations and exercise of powers in relation to Church related matters.
  • Assisting Churches with the acquisition and disposal of land.
  • Compliance with obligations under charity law
  • Religious discrimination issues.

We have also acted in Anglican Ecclesiastical property law transactions and have assisted Parochial Church Councils where property needs to be vested in the Diocesan authority as custodian Trustee.
